Letter from the Vice President

Anglers from throughout Maryland join the MBF for many different reasons. Some join for competitive tournament opportunities and some join for the simple enjoyment of fishing in a small club with anglers of similar interests. There are also anglers that join the MBF because of their dedication to conservation and community. This group is truly the back bone of our Casting Kids and Youth Club organizations.  During my first year as 2nd Vice President I have been fortunate to meet and work with this dedicated group of individuals. I will not list them for fear of unintentionally missing someone but I do want to express my appreciation for all of the hard work they have put in this year.

The MBF Youth Clubs follow the same format as their adult club counterparts. They have club tournaments, State Qualifying Tournaments and a National Championship. This year Maryland Bass Federation will host a Potomac River Invitational in which Youth State Teams from the surrounding States will compete. This will be an exciting event for the Youth State Team and for the Maryland Bass Federation.

I encourage the members of MBF to participate in any of the Casting Kids and Youth Club events. I promise you that it will be time well spent and you will most likely do it again. You can donate as little or as much time as you have to offer.

The next time you have nothing to do, turn off the television and take your son or daughter fishing! It is something they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Thanks to Roger Trageser and the Executive Board for all of your support.

Randy Dotson
2nd VP
