McClosky & Winegardner Head for the High School National Championship on Kentucky Lake

MBN Nation Jul 15th, 2015

Morgan Winegardner and Joe McClosky of the Garrett County High School Bass Fishing Team are heading to The Costa Bassmaster High School National Championship (July 22-25th) on Kentucky Lake. The team qualified to compete in the Nationals by winning the State High School Championship on October 5, 2014. This also qualified them to compete along with the Maryland State Adult Team at the Old Milwaukee B.A.S.S Nation Mid-Atlantic Divisionals on June 17-19, 2015 where they placed 2nd in the High School Division and helped the Maryland State Team to win the Divisional.

Morgan & Joe are a part of the newly formed Southern Garrett Bass Slayers Fishing Club. The club was formed in April of 2014 to give High School Anglers the chance to compete in local, regional & national Bass Fishing Tournaments. The club holds local tournaments with all members once a month on Deep Creek lake from spring-fall. The whole club will be competing in The State Championships again in October on the Potomac River. For more information or to show support of the team, visit The Southern Garrett Bass Slayers Facebook page. The High School Nationals can be viewed via a live internet feed on Bassmaster.com. Best of Luck to Morgan & Joe as they head to the Nationals!
