The Maryland Bass Nation Weekend SQT, held on May 2-3 on the Potomac River, was blessed with great weather and, at its conclusion, qualified our first two boaters and non-boaters for the new 2016 BASS Regionals.
Bass –aholics Jon Blaine’s first day weight of 13.26 and day two’s 17.57 propelled him to the top boaters spot with a total of 30.83 lb.
John Jeddry of Team Outcast scored early on day one with 14.03 lb. and proceeded to limp his way back to Smallwood with an engine that continued to overheat. Once corrected John remained focused on day two and put another 16.64 in the boat for a second place boater total of 30.67 lb.
Jim Hitt from Liberty Bassmasters combined 8.97 and 7.68 to top the non-boater side with 16.65 lb. while Hub City’s Doug Zittle put 7.87 and 7.79 together for a second place weight and finish of 15.66 lb.
Day one Lunker was taken by Big Stix Mike Day with a 5.72 beauty and although River Ratz Tom Todd’s 6.52 fish was the biggest second day and overall fish in the tournament he was not entered in the pool so John Jeddry’s 5.26 held up on day two. Both days paid a nice $410.00.
Ten lucky contenders were randomly drawn to receive a Livingston Lure crankbait while George Loope and Don Eney each received a SavePhace shield supplied by Team Electric
Rick Svoboda and Joshua Torres names were drawn and each received a gallon of Mercury oil.
