I'm curious if any of you guys notice the impact on the bass bite when carp are spawning and roughing up the waters.
I took my boss out fishing today to an area friends of mine caught 30 fish and best 5 over 25# yesterday! The bite just seemed off. Bass weren't anywhere to be found around their beds as carp were just tearing up the waters. I managed to land 5 fish and he landed 2 fish. We each had a couple come off. We had fun for a half day morning trip, but I was hoping for a better day for my boss. They were all pulled off the bedding areas and barely hitting. 4 of mine came from a Popper that they barely sucked in, even letting them take it before setting the hook. Only 1 female between us weighing 5.75 on a handheld, still full of roe.
Does carp action seem to kill bites for you guys too? Or was the bite just off for us and a coincidence?
