beem catching some good smallmouth 3 to 4 lbs on the upper potomac plus walleye are chewing to had one about 7 lbs yesterday 16 jan .water temps 37 on maryland side ...40 on virginia side... not a lot of fish . all fish in dead eddies ..no bubbles no fish .... catching them on old butch ward hair jig's ..only have a couple dozen left ..best bait i've ever used in cold water for brown fish..w.t.

The Musky are biting on the upper Potomac as well, I caught (2) 26" tiger muskies a week after Thanksgiving and a 36" musky just before Christmas. Caught them on a spinnerbait, crankbait, and the 36" fish was caught on a shakey head worm.
Hope it warms up again before too long.
